Tiffany Van Meter Golden Alert
LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Police are looking for a 22-year-old woman with mild mental disabilities. Tiffany Van Meter was last seen in the St. Matthews area on Dec. 6.
Police say Van Meter may be with a black man in his mid-20s in a white vehicle.
A Golden Alert has been issued in the case. The Golden Alert system in Kentucky has been in effect since July of 2008, and works for adults in much the same way that the Amber Alert works for missing children.
In the past, police had to wait three days before searching for a missing adult, but the Golden Alert - issued when an adult with Alzheimer's or a mental disability disappears - lets police begin searching immediately.
If you think you may have information on Van Meter's whereabouts, dial 911.
