Texas Silver Alert

Missing Paducah man found safe near Anton

An 88-year-old Paducah man who went missing while traveling to Lubbock on Sunday was found safe Monday morning.
The man was found at about 6:30 a.m. on the side of U.S. 84 between Anton and Roundup, Lubbock police said. He was in good condition.

Authorities had issued a Silver Alert at about 6 a.m.

The man, who was diagnosed with advanced dementia, was last seen at about noon and was believed to be driving to the Lubbock area, local police said.

He was located after a passerby observed his vehicle on the side of the highway. The passerby stopped to check on his welfare and saw that he was confused and disoriented.

Lubbock police said the elderly man apparently ran out of gas sometime Sunday.
