An elderly Sterling woman who was reported missing Saturday morning was located by police in Groton late Saturday afternoon.
Mary Zilaitis, 84, of 315 Snake Meadow Hill Road, had been reported missing by family members shortly before 9 a.m. Saturday. Relatives told Danielson state police that Zilaitis suffers from early stage dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

Police said a Groton Town police officer spotted Zilaitis driving her 2001 Hyundai Accent near Mystic. Police said the woman appeared to be disoriented, but was otherwise in good health.
